Don't Get Caught Acting, Unless You Want To...
So here's the thing, I could fill this entire website with good and bad acting advice. People have made careers off publishing books and leading seminars on "How to Act Better." And it's all hogswallow.
Acting is pragmatic. It means to do. My approach to acting is grounded and practical. Why? Because I've tried other methods and they have all left me found wanting.
The secret sauce is every actor learns to make their own secret sauce. They take a little bit of this and a little bit of that. They, like writers, steal what they like and forget the rest. The best piece of advice I ever received was to "Check your method at the door." On set, in rehearsal, on stage, it's a waste of time.
So, let's get down to the real work of acting.
